Vacation Tanks Productivity
Vacation Tanks Productivity
Currently I am vacationing in Miami and having a fabulous time visiting my daughter. Nothing like 9 days to relax, unwind, sight see and visit funky restaurants with fabulous food. Not to mention the girl chat that uplifts the soul. But my normal productivity routine tanked.
The upside of this is the time I have had to reevaluate my routines and gain some insights from my daughter, who works from home. It’s great to actually see someone else in action verses reading about productivity habits.
Habits Determine Your Success
We all have different success habits and habits are powerful. They shape your entire day in ways you might not even be consciously aware of. I am wowed by my daughters self discipline! Just watching her in action has made me aware of areas I am slipping in.
She’s up 2 hours before she starts work to walk her dog, squeeze in a run some mornings, make coffee and a mini breakfast, reflect and then start work at a set time. Lunch can be flexible and then her work day ends at a predetermined time.
At that point the evening is ours to catch up on favorite shows, see an amazing Miami sunset over looking the beach and more. And because she accomplished so much her mindset is so positive and joyful.
The actions and routines create super productivity. My actions and routines have been more scattered lately so I definitely see how I can improve. I tend to beat myself up when I can’t tick off the boxes of what I planned to accomplish. Do you ever do that to yourself? Crazy foolish isn’t it!!??
Of course she says, relax, you are on vacation and can get back on track when you get home. And I will. But with improvement in my productivity habits due to watching her! What a blessing this time has been in so many ways.
So my tip for the day is to pay attention to other successful people you admire and their productivity habits. Then implement, implement implement!
