Managing Your Health for Success

Health for Success

Health for successThe older I get the more I realize I have to focus on my health to be my absolute best. I use to think the sins of my youth weren’t that bad and I could just skate along and everything would be fine. Eat fairly well, pop a few supplements and I would be good to go.

Well, that hasn’t worked out. Duh!

I find myself in my 6th decade heavier than I have ever been and it’s tougher to lose the pounds that I could easily keep off until about 50. The extra weight tires me out, slows me down and interferes with my concentration. The same will happen to you if you don’t address your health.

The Right Diet Plan

I am happy to say I am back on a low carb/keto diet that works best for me and have dropped 10 lbs. Most diets work if you stick to them and you need to find the one that resonates with you. My husband has had great success with Nutrisystem losing over 80 lbs to get ready for a second hip replacement surgery.

I can’t stomach that boxed food but no judgement here. As soon as he gets his surgery done he will switch back to a more normal diet. Don’t think you should stay on those kind of plans forever.

Accountability

Having a weight loss buddy is helpful whether it is someone to exercise with regularly or an accountability group on Facebook. I get great food tips by following Lynn Terry of Low Carb Traveler fame here. I’ve also started walking more, which I love, and look to start yoga.

I know very little about yoga but since I also deal with back pain hope this will help.

Any health tips you’d like to share or advice about which yoga is best don’t hesitate to leave your suggestions.
