Keyword Planner Instructions
Let’s take the mystery out of the Keyword Planner. Most of us online have been using the free Google Keyword Tool for research to find the keywords or terms that people are using when they do a search on Google or the other search engines such as Bing and Yahoo! Using keywords helps us design our posts and websites so people will find the information they need. Google has now changed the tool to what is called the Keyword Planner and it is fairly simple to use. Don’t let the new changes derail you. I know it can be frustrating with all the new Google updates going on and it takes time to learn new ways of doing things but let’s tackle this.
One of the big changes is you have to have a Google adwords account to access the data but it won’t cost you anything to sign up for one. You always had to log in to your adwords account to get the most data anyway so you probably already have an account. If not you can find out how to sign up below. Here is a great video by Sara Young, a fellow marketer I have been following and learning from for quite awhile. She teaches you how to use the new Keyword Planner in a simple and easy to understand manner. Hope this is helpful for you.

Great post, I did not even know that Google changed their keyword tool. I use Long Tail Pro and I love it for finding keywords.
However, I do sometimes use the keyword tool from Google if I am in a hurry. Thanks for sharing…I will watch the video to pick up some more tidbits.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for commenting and hope the video was helpful. I have always liked Google’s keyword tool although I use a couple others as well. May have to check out Long Tail Pro.
All the best,
Kit
